Alvord, Iowa — An Alvord teen was taken to a hospital after an accident on Saturday night, November 11th, 2017.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 10:55 p.m., 17-year-old Conner Peterson of rural Alvord was driving a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville southbound on Elmwood Avenue, when he lost control of the vehicle, which entered the west ditch. It rolled over, coming to rest on its roof.
The Lyon County Ambulance took Peterson to Sanford Rock Rapids hospital.
The vehicle sustained $2,000 damage.
Incidentally, the sheriff’s office reports that the 911 call reporting the accident came from the Verizon Telematics Call Center. They said that one of their clients had been involved in a motor vehicle accident.
Deputies responded to the scene along with Alvord Fire/Rescue personnel, the Lester Rescue Squad and the Lyon County Ambulance Squad.
