Animal Near Road Causes Two Vehicle Accident

sioux county sheriff emblemMaurice, Iowa — A Le Mars woman’s and a Sioux City man’s vehicles were damaged in an accident in Maurice on Wednesday, September 9th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 7:03 am, 56-year-old Julie Ogburn of Sioux City was driving a 2012 Kia Sorento northbound on Highway 75 in Maurice. Fifty-eight-year-old David Klave was driving a 2002 Ford Explorer northbound on Highway 75 following Ogburn. According to the report, Ogburn slowed for an animal that was near the roadway and Klave struck Ogburn.

The Kia received $5000 damage; the Ford received $4500 damage.

No injuries were reported.
