Osceola County, Iowa — Osceola County deputies cited a Remsen man who allegedly struck a barricade Wednesday.
Deputies say at about 3:30 Wednesday afternoon, 25-year old Austin Orlin Pratt, of Remsen, was driving a 2008 Kia Optima northbound on Northwest Blvd and collided with the barricade at 180th St. Deputies say the vehicle then left the scene and was later located by law enforcement. Pratt told officers the accident happened because he was distracted by the radio.
Damage to Pratt’s KIA was estimated at $7,000. He was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control.
No injuries were reported.
