Doon, Iowa — A Doon man was injured after he was ejected from his tractor near Doon on Monday, June 5th.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that 76-year-old James Kelly of Doon was driving a Kubota tractor southbound on Fig Avenue. According to the report, the tractor entered the west ditch, struck the ditch embankment, and Kelly was ejected from the tractor. The tractor then continued westbound across a field for more than half a mile without an occupant, where it came to rest when it got stuck in a muddy slew.
Kelly was transported by private vehicle to Sanford Rock Rapids for treatment of his injuries.
