Hawarden Man Faces Multiple Charges After Allegedly Trashing Relative’s Home

Hawarden, Iowa — A Hawarden man was jailed on a combination of felony and misdemeanor charges following an incident in Hawarden Friday night.

Hawarden Police Chief Mike De Bruin says the charges against 23-year old Joshua James Morgan stem from an incident in which he allegedly went to a relative’s home while intoxicated, kicked in the door, and, in Chief De Bruin’s words, “trashed the place.”

Police say Morgan is charged with 2nd Degree Burglary, a Class C Felony, 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief, a Class D Felony, as well as misdemeanor charges of Assault and 4th Degree Criminal Mischief.

At last report, Morgan was being held in the Sioux County Jail in lieu of a $6-thousand bond.
