Sioux Center, Iowa — Four Sioux Center residents were injured in an accident in Sioux Center on Wednesday, June 22nd.
The Sioux Center Police Department reports that at about 12:23 pm on Wednesday, 28-year-old Imelda Morales-Ramos of Sioux Center was driving a 2004 Toyota Corolla westbound on 2nd Street Northeast in Sioux Center. Thirty-five-year-old Tiffany Govig of Sioux Center was driving a 2008 Chevy van southbound on Highway 75. According to the report, Morales-Ramos failed to yield when crossing Highway 75 and collided into the side of Govig.
The Toyota received $6000 damage and the Chevy received $8000 damage.
Morales-Ramos, a 5-year-old passenger, Brenda Morales-Ramos, and 4-year-old Roxana Morales-Ramos received minor injuries along with Govig, but were not transported to any hospital.
Two Sioux Center women’s vehicles were damaged after they backed into each other on Saturday, June 25th.
The Sioux Center Police Department reports that at about 5:10 pm on Saturday, 32-year-old Blanca Vargas Cazares of Sioux Center was backing a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer onto 7th Street Northwest in Sioux Center. Forty-one-year-old Tami Pollema of Sioux Center was backing up a 2002 Pontiac Montana onto 7th Street Northwest, across the street from Vargas Cazares. According to the report, both vehicles struck rear to rear. The report continues that Vargas Cazares claimed to have been established on the roadway first and that Pollema backed into her. Pollema claimed to have looked prior to backing and did not see anyone.
The Trailblazer and Montana each received $2000 damage.
No injuries were reported.
A Sioux Center man struck a culvert and ended up in a creek in Sioux Center on Sunday, June 26th.
The Sioux Center Police Department reports that at about 8:00 am on Sunday, 28-year-old Eric Beaver of Sioux Center was driving a 2000 Chevrolet K1500 northbound on 7th Avenue Northwest. According to the report, at around 4:00 am, Beaver’s dog jumped onto the steering wheel, and caused him to lose control of the pickup, causing it to driving straight off the roadway, strike a metal culvert, and go about 50 feet into a creek.
The Chevrolet received $3500 damage.
No injuries were reported.
