Man Taken To Hospital After Car Hits Semi Near Ireton

Ireton, Iowa — A Des Moines man was taken to the hospital after an accident near Ireton.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 8:35 p.m. on Friday, October 27, 2017, 45-year-old Robert Lehman of Ireton was driving a 1998 Peterbilt, backing into a driveway, three miles west of Ireton. Fifty-five-year-old David Ross of Des Moines was northbound on Dipper Avenue in a 2010 Honda.

The report says that Lehman was backing the truck into the driveway of 4732 Dipper Avenue. The semi and trailer were blocking both lanes. The report says the Ross car hit the brakes and swerved but made contact with the front driver side wheel and axle of the trailer.
