North Dakota Man Pleads Guilty To Charges

Osceola County Courthouse Closeup_SVASibley, Iowa — Eduardo Rene Palos Vazquez, 41, of Welliston, ND, plead guilty to Operating While Intoxicated, 3rd Offense, committed on July 19, 2015. Vazquez is sentenced to the custody of the Director of the Iowa Dept of Corrections for a term not to exceed 5 years, however, this term of incarceration is suspended and Vazquez was placed on formal probation to the Iowa Dept of Corrections for a period of 2 years. He is ordered to pay a fine of $3125, a 35% surcharge of $1093.75, court costs, and restitution of all court appointed attorney’s fees, the DARE surcharge of $10, and the sheriff’s room, board and medical fees.

Vazquez also plead guilty to Forgery, an Aggravated Misdemeanor and is to pay a fine of $625, a 35% surcharge of $218.75, the costs of this action and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees, and a Law Enforcement Initiative Surcharge in the amount of $125. However, the fine of $625 and the 35% surcharge are suspended. Vazquez is also sentenced to 89 days in the Osceola County Jail, with credit for 89 days already served.
