A Paullina woman was taken to the hospital after an accident on Saturday, May 4.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 8:15 PM, 15-year-old Shay Lund of Paullina was eastbound on Highway 10, when the vehicle went across the center line and over onto the opposite shoulder. The driver then over-corrected and lost control while still traveling down the opposite side of the roadway. The vehicle then entered the north ditch and the report says it appeared that the vehicle’s speed didn’t decrease. It says it continued about three hundred feet and struck a tree, before coming to a stop.
A passenger in the vehicle, 42-year-old Brenda Lund of Paullina was transported to the Orange City hospital.
Damage was estimated at about $6,000.
Lund said she was spacing off and lost control. She was cited for Failure to Maintain Control.
Vehicles driven by a Primghar woman and a Sheldon teen were damaged in an accident on May 1st.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 7:35 PM, 40-year-old Tanya Brown of Primghar was westbound on Third street Northwest in Primghar and 19-year-old Brady DenHartog of Sheldon was northbound on North McCormack Avenue.
The report says Brown failed to yield from a yield sign and struck the DenHartog vehicle in the intersection.
Damages to the vehicles were estimated at $1,000 per vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
Brown was cited for Failure to Yield Upon Entering Through Highway.
