Osceola County District Court Issues Judgments

September 6, 2013, Kent Douglas Vink, age 21, of Doon, IA, was found guilty of Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense and Interference with Official Acts committed on April 5, 2013. He is to pay fines and surcharges of $1785.25, the costs of this action and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees. The defendant is sentenced to sixty (60) days in the Osceola County Jail with all time suspended except for two (2) days which must be served. He will be put on informal probation to the Sheriff for a period of 2 years. The defendant is also ordered to undergo a substance abuse evaluation and is further ordered to participate and cooperate in such substance abuse counseling. Vink was arrested after a traffic stop on April 5, 2013.

September 6, 2013, Kelvin Francisco Rodriguez, age 27, of Sheldon, IA, was found guilty of Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense, Simple Misdemeanor Assault, and Simple Misdemeanor Harassment committed on May 11, 2013. He is to pay fines and surcharges of $1873.00, the costs of this action and restitution of any court appointed attorney fees. For operating while intoxicated the defendant is sentenced to sixty (60) days in the Osceola County Jail with all time suspended except for two (2) days which must be served. On each other offense, the defendant is sentenced to serve thirty (30) days with twenty-six (26) days suspended during a two year informal probation to the Sheriff with credit for time already previously served for this offense. The defendant is also ordered to undergo a substance abuse evaluation and is further ordered to participate and cooperate in such substance abuse counseling. Rodriguez was arrested after our office received a driving complaint call.

September 6, 2013, Joey Lee Renken, age 45, of Sibley, IA, was found guilty of Theft in the Fourth Degree, a Serious Misdemeanor. He is to pay fines and surcharges of $425.25, the costs of this action and restitution for the Sheriff’s room and board fees for each day served in jail and any medical fees advanced by the Sheriff on behalf of the defendant. The defendant is sentenced to thirty (30) days in the Osceola County Jail with twenty-eight (28) days suspended during a two year informal probation to the Sheriff. He will be put on informal probation to the Sheriff for a period of 2 years. After serving a search warrant, the defendant was found to be in possession of stolen items.
