Three Vehicle Accident At Million Dollar Corner

Sioux Sheriff 84-8 FacebookMaurice, Iowa — Three vehicles were damaged in an accident in the evening hours of Thursday, August 18th near Maurice.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 7:04 pm, 29-year-old Jennifer Sheeler of Hartley was driving a 2013 Toyota Camry westbound on Highway 10 and stopped at the stop sign at Highway 75, two miles north of Maurice. Thirty-one-year-old Eric Oolman of Orange City was driving a 2011 Ford Expedition southbound on Highway 75. 74-year-old Verna Lammey of Woonsocket, South Dakota was driving a 2008 Ford Taurus northbound on Highway 75. According to the report, Lammey was stopped, waiting for traffic before attempting to turn left onto Highway 10. Sheeler drove into the intersection, struck Oolman and the impact caused Scheeler’s Vehicle to strick Lammey in the intersection.

The Toyota and Expedition each received $10,000 damage. The Taurus received $5,000 damage.

No injuries were reported.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Ambulance and Maurice First Responders.
