Trailer Disconnects From Semi

sioux sheriff emblem side of carHull, Iowa — A Hull man’s trailer disconnected from his semi-truck on Tuesday, August 30th near Hull.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 7:29 pm on Tuesday, 42-year-old Christopher Huyser of Hull was driving a 2007 International semi-truck pulling a tank trailer northbound on Highway 75, two miles west of Hull. According to the report, a mechanical malfunction caused the trailer hitch to fail. The trailer disconnected from the truck and struck a light pole before coming to rest in the west ditch.

The truck and trailer received $5,000 damage; the light pole received $1000 damage.

No injuries were reported.
