Two Face Drug Charges After Allegedly Being Found With Marijuana

Orange City, Iowa — Two people face drug charges after an Orange City Police officer allegedly found them with marijuana.

The Orange City Police Department reports that about 10 AM on Saturday, October 17th, an officer was called to a parking lot on the corner of Seventh Street and Florida Avenue Southwest in Orange City. The report says the officer approached the vehicle and saw two male subjects in the front seat of the vehicle. Both the driver’s and passenger seat were fully reclined. The Officer knocked on the driver’s window to awake the occupants. The subject in the driver’s seat lowered the door window slightly and the report says that’s when the officer could immediately detect a strong odor of marijuana.

Upon further investigation 20-year-old Michael Patrick Frehse of Green Bay, Wisconsin and his passenger, who was a juvenile, were charged with possession of marijuana. Michael Frehse was transported to the Sioux County Jail and the juvenile was released to his mother and stepfather.

According to Sioux County Jail records, Frehse was released the next day after posting a $1000 unsecured bond.
