Two Taken To Hospital After Perkins Accident

Hull, Iowa — A man from Hull and one from Sioux Center were taken to the hospital after an accident at Perkins Corner on Thursday July 2, 2015.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 3:30 PM, 25-year-old Cory Kats of Hull driving a 1995 Chrysler New Yorker northbound on Highway 75. Zachary Dimmick of Sioux Center, who’s also 25 years old, was driving a 2013 GMC Sierra pickup westbound on 320th Street, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The report says Dimmick stopped for the stop sign at Highway 75 and then drove into the intersection where he was struck by Kats.

The Hull Ambulance crew transported both Dimmick and Kats to Sioux Center Health.

The Chrysler sustained approximately $4,000 in damages. The GMC sustained an estimated $7,000 in damages.

The Hull Ambulance crew, Hull Fire Department and the Iowa State Patrol assisted at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office says they cited Dimmick on a charge of failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign.
