Sheldon, Iowa — It was a combination event this Monday in downtown Sheldon. Part fun, part fundraiser, the event was called “Fall in Love with Downtown.”
Kelli Rohwer with Mastbergen Jewelry tells us there were free hot dogs courtesy of Sheldon Hy-Vee, Free Hot Chocolate courtesy of Downtown Grounds, a Pie Bake Off sponsored by Mastbergen Jewelry, and last, but certainly not least, a Pie in the Face Fundraiser to support school lunches.
Rohwer tells us how it got started.
She tells us they raised way more money than they thought they would.
She says they knew the pie-in-the-face fundraiser would be fun, but it was more popular than they even expected.
Rohwer says she hopes the downtown businesses can come together again and do something like this in the future.
