Community Blood Bank Blood Drive in Sheldon
June 25 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Community Blood Bank will host a community blood drive on Monday, June 25th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm & from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at the Sheldon Community Services Center. Residents will have an opportunity make a difference in the local blood supply.
“The summer continues to be a difficult time to keep an adequate blood supply available for the community. Many unexpected situations occur on the roadways, traumas need to be addressed, cancer patients require treatment and surgeries occur every day throughout the area,” states Ken Versteeg, Executive Director, Community Blood Bank. “Community Blood Bank requires 550 pints of blood each week to meet the needs of 34 hospitals in the local area including Sanford Sheldon. Support you local blood supply by donating blood on the bloodmobile when it will be at the Sanford Sheldon on August 9.”
Donors must be at least 17 years old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form found at www.cbblifeblood.org), weigh 110 lbs. or more and be in good general health. Please bring an ID with you. It is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood. The donation process only takes 30 – 35 minutes on the bloodmobile.
Community Blood Bank is the sole provider of blood and blood products for Sanford Sheldon and 33 other local hospitals. For information or to make an appointment please contact Sanford Sheldon at 324-6035 or log onto www.cbblifeblood.org. Walk-ins are always welcome.
