George City Council

The George City Council met in special session on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 5:30 p.m. in the City Council Room, 120 S. Main Street. Present were Mayor Gary Siebring, Kary Conaway, Gerald Grave, Angie McConnell and Norm Riemersma. Russ Hopp was absent.

Conaway made a motion to adopt the agenda. Grave seconded the motion. All cast aye votes – motion carried.
Riemersma made a motion to approve the Special Liquor License for Last Call Saloon and allow them to block off a portion of Main Street for the GBC Bean Bag Tournament on August 9th. Grave seconded the motion. All cast aye votes – motion carried.
The Mayor reviewed roof repairs and hail estimates from the insurance agent. The insurance company is recommending the City repair the Mower Shed along with the Depot and the Red Shed, which have already been awarded bids. The City will not take the payout for the other roofs at this time that have appearance damage and will not be penalized for future damage since we are not taking the payouts.
Conaway made a motion that the City call for bids on the Mower Shed roof repair. Grave seconded the motion. All cast aye votes – motion carried.
McConnell made a motion to adjourn at 5:43 p.m. Conaway seconded the motion. All cast aye votes – motion carried.
