Hull Man Crashes Car, Taken To Hospital, Then To Jail

Boyden, Iowa — A Hull man was arrested by Sioux County deputies about 10:20 Wednesday morning in connection with a traffic crash earlier that morning.

Authorities say the arrest stemmed from an investigation into a motor vehicle crash that occurred on Kennedy Avenue, two miles south of Boyden.

According to authorities, the investigation revealed that 29-year old Andrew Dale was driving a 1998 Oldsmobile Aurora southbound on Kennedy Avenue when he lost control of the vehicle, entered the east ditch and struck a residential driveway. Deputies report finding illegal drugs in Dale’s possession and they say they suspected he was under the influence of the drugs.

Dale was transported by the Boyden Ambulance to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for treatment of his injuries

Officials estimate the damage to Dale’s Oldsmobile at approximately $6,000.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Boyden Fire Department, Boyden Ambulance, and Sheldon Police Department.

Deputies say that, upon his release from medical treatment, Dale was charged with second offense operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated (drugged), possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, officials say he was cited for no automobile liability insurance and failing to maintain control of motor vehicle.
