Accident Ends In Trip To Hospital

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Sioux Center man was taken to the hospital after an accident on Thursday afternoon.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 1:00 PM, 32-year-old Johnathan Chamblee of Sioux Center was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo eastbound on 420th Street, a mile southeast of Sioux Center, when he reported he swerved for a raccoon in the roadway and lost control of the vehicle, which entered the south ditch and rolled.

The Sioux Center Ambulance transported Chamblee to Sioux Center Health.

The Chevrolet sustained approximately $4,000 in damages.

Chamblee was cited for failure to maintain control.

The Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Fire Department and Sioux Center Ambulance crew assisted the Sheriff’s Office.
