Alton Man Facing Felony Charge In Connection With Alleged Assault

Orange City, Iowa — An Alton man was arrested Thursday afternoon after allegedly assaulting another person in Orange City.

According to Orange City Police, they received a report of an assault at a home on 14th Street Southwest in Orange City that happened about 1:45 Thursday afternoon (February 7, 2019).

According to authorities, 23-year old Jordan Lee Wichers of Alton is accused of entering a residence and intentionally assaulting the resident by punching him about the face, causing serious injury.

Court records indicate that Wichers was charged with 1st Degree Burglary for entering the home with the intent of committing the assault 1st Degree Burglary is a Class B Felony, which carries a maximum penalty of 25-years in prison if convicted. In addition, records indicate Wichers was also charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury, which is a Serious Misdemeanor. If convicted, Assault Causing Bodily Injury is punishable by up to 1-year in Jail, and of fine of $315 to $1875.

Court records indicate Wichers was taken into custody and transported to the Sioux County Jail.
