Alvord Man Taken To Hospital After Accident

Alvord, Iowa — An Alvord man was taken to a hospital after a crash on Saturday afternoon near Alvord.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that shortly before 3:40 p.m., 59-year-old Ronald K Sipma of Alvord was driving a 2002 Olds Aurora eastbound on 220th Street, about a half-mile southwest of Alvord when he lost control and the car entered the north ditch, striking a field driveway, which caused the vehicle to roll over.

The Lyon County Ambulance took Sipma to Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids.

His Olds is considered totaled.

The sheriff’s office says the accident is still under investigation. They say that the Alvord Fire Department, Lester Rescue Squad, and the Lyon County Ambulance assisted with the response to the accident.
