Sioux City, Iowa — A man who conspired to distribute methamphetamine in northwest Iowa has been sentenced to four years in federal prison.
According to federal authorities, 33-year-old Henock Castillo of Mesa, Arizona, received the prison term after a March guilty plea to conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
At the guilty plea, Castillo admitted he participated in a conspiracy that distributed at least 13 kilograms of methamphetamine. Castillo arranged for the delivery of methamphetamine to Sioux City. He obtained the meth from his source in Mexico and traveled from Phoenix to Sioux City with the methamphetamine for distribution in northwest Iowa.
Castillo was sentenced to 48 months’ imprisonment. He must also serve a 5-year term of supervised release after the prison term. There is no parole in the federal system. Castillo is being held in the United States Marshal’s custody until he can be transported to a federal prison.
