Ashton Man To ER, Then To Jail Following Crash

George, Iowa — An Ashton man was arrested after crashing his pickup near George on Tuesday, June 13th.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says their deputies responded to a crash in the 2000 block of Jefferson Avenue, outside of George.  Authorities say the crash took place when 41-year old Arvin Krahling was southbound, and struck a Lyon County road grader that was in the process of removing a downed tree.

Deputies say Krahling was transported to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center by the Lyon County Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, upon his release from Sanford Sheldon’s ER, he was arrested and charged with 2nd offense Operating While Intoxicated, which is an aggravated misdemeanor.

The Iowa State Patrol, George Emergency Medical Services, George Fire Department, the Lyon County Ambulance, and Tracside Towing all assisted Lyon County deputies at the accident scene.
