Boyden Teen Taken To Hospital After Crash

Boyden, Iowa — A Boyden teen was taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle accident Sunday morning.

According to Sioux County authorities, the crash took place three miles northwest of Boyden on 310th Street, around 10:30 Sunday morning.

According to the accident report 17-year-old Emma Wells of Boyden was eastbound on 310th Street in a 2011 Ford Taurus when she lost control of the car, entered the south ditch and struck a MidAmerican Energy electric utility pole.

Deputies say Wells was transported to the Sioux Center Hospital by the Boyden Ambulance for treatment of what were described as “minor injuries.” Deputies estimate damage to Wells’ car at $6 thousand, with about $2 thousand damage to the utility pole.

Deputies were assisted by the Boyden Fire Department and Boyden Ambulance.
