Car Strikes Pizza Ranch, Driver Charged With OWI

Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Rock Rapids business will need to do some unexpected repair work probably costing in the tens of thousands of dollars after someone struck the building and was charged with Operating While Intoxicated.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says that they believe that about 10:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1st, a vehicle hit the Pizza Ranch building in Rock Rapids and then left the scene.

The sheriff’s office says one of their deputies located the vehicle a short distance away at a residence.

The sheriff’s office arrested 26-year-old Jessica Drewes of Rock Rapids and charged her with Operating While Intoxicated, Second Offense; an aggravated misdemeanor.

The vehicle that Drewes was driving sustained about $5,000 in damage and the Pizza Ranch building sustained about $30,000 in damage, according to the sheriff’s office.
