Rock Valley, Iowa — A Doon teen received minor injuries in an accident near Rock Valley on Thursday, September 21, 2017.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 3:20 p.m., 16-year-old Jonathan Post of Rock Valley was driving a 2012 Chrysler eastbound on 310th Street, on Highway 18, two miles east of Rock Valley. They report that 17-year-old Courtney Maassen of Doon was driving a 2004 Audi eastbound on Highway 18 behind Post. The report says Post stopped for traffic before attempting a left turn onto Garfield Avenue and Maassen struck Post.
Maassen was transported by private vehicle to Hegg Health Center for treatment of minor injuries.
The vehicles sustained about $8,000 in damage, each.
Maassen was cited on a charge of following too closely.
