George Man Injured, Cited After Traffic Accident

Boyden, Iowa — A 24-year old George man was taken to the hospital in the aftermath of a 2-vehicle crash near Boyden Saturday morning.

According to a release from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, Give Lewi, of George, was southbound on Lily Avenue in a 2007 Ford Edge, and collided in the intersection of Highway 18 and Lily Avenue with a westbound 2006 Peterbilt semi tractor pulling a grain trailer, driven by 41-year old Jeremy Steuven of George.

Authorities say Lewi was transported by Boyden Ambulance to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. Damage to Lewi’s Ford were estimated at about $10-thousand, with damage to the Peterbilt estimate at about $15-thousand.

Deputies say Lewi was cited for failing to obey a stop sign, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked driver’s license and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Boyden Ambulance, Boyden Fire Department and the Iowa State Patrol.
