Primghar, Iowa — A Hartley man will serve 30 years in prison following his sentencing in O’Brien County District Court Monday.
According to court records, 41-year old Chad Demey was sentenced on a plea bargain for 3 counts of 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse, and 1 count of Lascivious Acts With A Child. All of the charges are Class C felonies.
Court records indicate that Demey was sentenced to three 10-year sentences, with the sentences ordered to be served consecutively, for a total of 30 years in prison. Upon his release from prison, Demey was ordered to serve probation for the remainder of his life, as well as serve a lifetime listing on the Sex Offender Registry.
