Hawarden Woman Taken To Hospital After Crash

Chatsworth, Iowa — A Hawarden woman was taken to a hospital after an accident on Monday, November 27th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 11:45 a.m., 43-year-old Adelina Lira of Hawarden was driving a 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada northbound on Highway 12 in Chatsworth when she lost control of the vehicle, which entered the west ditch, re-entered the roadway, entered the east ditch and rolled.

Lira became trapped in the vehicle and was extricated with mechanical tools by the Hawarden Fire Department. The Hawarden Ambulance Squad took her to the Hawarden Regional Healthcare hospital.

They say the Oldsmobile sustained about $5,000 in damage.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the Hawarden Fire Department and Hawarden Ambulance Squad assisted them with the response to the accident, which they say remains under investigation.
