Hawarden Woman Taken To Hospital After Ireton Area Crash

Ireton, Iowa — A Hawarden woman was taken to a hospital after a crash early on Friday morning, November 30th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 4:05 a.m., 42-year-old Catherine Winterfeld of Hawarden was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound on Highway 10, a mile north of Ireton, when she lost control of the vehicle, which entered the south ditch and rolled.

Winterfeld became trapped in her vehicle and was extricated by Ireton Fire Department personnel. The Ireton Ambulance took Winterfeld to the Hawarden Regional Hospital.

The Chevrolet sustained about $8,000 in damage. The Sheriff’s Office reports that the Ireton Fire Department and Ireton Ambulance Squad assisted them with the response to the crash.
