Orange City, Iowa — A Hospers man was taken to the hospital after he was struck in a parking lot in Orange City.
The Orange City Police Department reports that just after 3:15 pm on Saturday, 86-year-old Peter Vander Zwaag of Orange City was backing up his 2005 Dodge Dakota in the Fareway Parking lot in Orange City. According to the report, Irwin Woudstra came out of the store and was walking along the right rear side and then behind the Dodge. Vander Zwaag started to back up, then knocked Woudstra down and drove over Woudstra.
Woudstra was transported to the Orange City Area System by the Orange City Area Health System Ambulance for treatment of his injuries.
