Hull Man Airlifted After Semi Rollover

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Hull man was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital after a semi rollover near Sioux Center on Monday night, June 17th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 9:30 p.m., 51-year-old Kevin Van Schepen of Hull was driving a 2019 Freightliner semi‐truck pulling a feed trailer southbound on Garfield Avenue, four miles southwest of Sioux Center when he lost control of the vehicle, which entered the west ditch. The truck and trailer rolled onto its side.

Sioux Center Ambulance EMTs took Van Schepen to Sioux Center Health. He was later flown to a Sioux Falls hospital for further treatment of his injuries.

The truck and trailer sustained approximately $200,000 in damage. The sheriff’s office reports that the Sioux Center Police Department, Sioux Center Fire Department, and the Sioux Center Ambulance Squad assisted with the response to the accident.
