Hull Man Taken To Hospital After Accident

Boyden, Iowa — A Hull man was taken to a hospital after an accident in Boyden on Tuesday, May 30th.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 6:30 p.m., 30-year-old Joseph Plueger of Hull was driving a 2000 Chevrolet pickup westbound on Highway 18. They say 35-year-old Doyle Thorne of Rock Valley was driving a 2006 Dodge Durango eastbound on Highway 18.

According to the report, Thorne attempted to turn northbound onto Colfax Street and struck the Plueger pickup.

The Boyden Ambulance took Plueger to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.

The pickup sustained about $9,000 in damage. The Dodge sustained about $10,000 in damage.

Thorne was cited on a charge of failure to yield when making a left turn.

The Sheriff’s Office says the Boyden Fire Department and Boyden Ambulance Squad assisted them with the response to the accident.
