Hull Man Taken To Hospital After Crash

Hull, Iowa — A Hull man was taken to a hospital after a crash early Wednesday morning.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 4:50 a.m., 72-year-old Harold Schelling of Sioux Center was driving a 2014 Ford Econoline van northbound on Maple Street. They say 25-year-old Matthew De Wild of Hull was driving a 1999 Dodge Intrepid westbound on Fourth Street. The two struck in the intersection. The Hull Ambulance took De Wild to the Sioux Center Health Hospital.

Schelling’s Ford van sustained about $5,000 in damage. The De Wild Dodge sustained about $1,500 in damage.

Schelling was cited on a charge of failure to yield to a vehicle on the right. The Sheriff’s Office says the Hull Fire Department and Hull Ambulance Squad assisted at the scene.
