Hull Teen Lands In Hospital After Rear-Ending Manure Tank

Hull, Iowa — A Hull teen was taken to a hospital after an accident on Wednesday afternoon near Hull.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that shortly after 3:30 p.m., 33-year-old Noah Fedders of Ireton was driving a 2004 New Holland TG 285 farm tractor pulling a Houle liquid manure tank wagon westbound on 290th Street, three miles north of Hull. They say 16-year-old Carter Van Voorst of Hull was driving a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on 290th Street behind Fedders.

The report says Fedders slowed to turn onto a field driveway and Van Voorst struck Fedders.

The Hull Ambulance Squad took Van Voorst to the Sioux Center Health Hospital.

The Houle wagon sustained about $6,000 in damage, with the Jeep sustaining about $8,000 in damage, according to the report.

The Sheriff’s Office says the Hull Fire Department, Hull Ambulance Squad, and the Iowa State Patrol assisted them with the response to the accident, which they report remains under investigation.
