Ireton Man Injured When Minivan Collides With Semi

Ireton, Iowa — An Ireton man was injured early Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash near Ireton.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the mishap occurred shortly before 7:00 Thursday morning at the intersection of Elmwood Avenue and 510th Street, five miles southeast of Ireton.

Deputies say a 2008 Peterbilt semi tractor pulling a grain trailer, and driven by 34-year-old Brady Nohava of Le Mars, was westbound on 510th Street, and a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country minivan, driven by 61-year-old Stanley Meyer of Ireton was southbound on Elmwood Avenue. Authorities say the two vehicles collided in the intersection.

Deputies say Meyer was transported by Ireton Ambulance to the Orange City Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The grain trailer sustained an estimated $1,500 in damage. Damage to Meyer’s minivan was estimated at $6,000.

Sioux County Deputies were assisted by the Ireton Fire Department, Ireton Ambulance, Iowa State Patrol and Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office.
