Manufactured Home Damaged In Accident

Hull, Iowa — Over $25,000 in damage was reported in an accident involving a manufactured home being transported on Highway 18 near Hull on Tuesday, October 20th, 2015.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that shortly after 1:30 PM, 62-year-old Patrick Robinson of Shipshewana, Indiana was driving a 1996 International semi‐tractor pulling a trailer loaded with a manufactured home westbound on Highway 18. They report that 67-year-old Ken Leusink, of Hull was driving a 2007 Ford F350 pickup eastbound on Highway 18. Robinson reported a medical issue caused him to lose control of the semi, which crossed the center of the roadway and struck the Leusink pickup. It then entered the south ditch where it struck a MidAmerican Energy utility pole and the truck and trailer overturned.

No injuries were reported.

The International sustained about $8,000 in damages. The manufactured home sustained an
estimated $15,000 in damages. The Ford pickup sustained about $500 in damages. The utility pole and power lines sustained about $4,000 in damages.

The Sheriff’s Office says the Iowa Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Enforcement department, Hull Fire Department and Hull Ambulance crew assisted them.
