Rock Valley, Iowa — Men from Rock Rapids and Rock Valley were injured in an accident near Hull on Monday morning.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 6:50 a.m., 42-year-old Anthony Jackson of Rock Rapids was driving a 2011 Oldsmobile Alero southbound on Highway 75, two miles west of Hull at the north junction of Highways 75 and 18. They report that 67-year-old Juan Garcia of Rock Valley was driving a 2003 Pontiac Montana minivan eastbound on 310th Street and had stopped for the stop sign at Highway 75.
The report says that Garcia drove east into the intersection and was struck by the Jackson Oldsmobile.
The Hull Ambulance Squad took Jackson to Sanford Rock Rapids Hospital and they took Garcia to Hegg Health Center Hospital in Rock Valley.
The Sheriff’s Office says the Jackson Oldsmobile and the Garcia Pontiac sustained about $5,000 in damage, each.
They say the accident remains under investigation.
