Alton, Iowa — A Rochester, Minnesota woman was taken to the hospital after her SUV struck a deer near Alton Wednesday evening.
Sioux County authorities say that shortly after 6:30 Wednesday evening (November 22nd), a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by 31-year old Raelynn Chase of Rochester was southbound on Highway 60, about a mile south of Alton, when she struck a deer on the roadway.
Authorities say Chase was taken to the Orange City Hospital by Alton Ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. A passenger in the Chase vehicle, 43-year old Toni Williamson, of Rochester, reported minor injuries, but sought medical attention on her own, according to deputies.
Damage to the Chase SUV was estimated at $6-thousand.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Alton Fire Department, Alton Ambulance, and Orange City Police Department.
