Mobile Home Destroyed In Tuesday Fire

Rock Valley, Iowa– A mobile home was destroyed in a fire on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in Rock Valley.

According to Rock Valley Fire Chief Brent Eshuis, about 12:30 p.m., the Rock Valley Fire Department was called to the report of a trailer on fire with someone inside at 605 Tenth Street, Lot 38, in a mobile home park on Rock Valley’s west side.

The chief says the fire department saw the mobile home fully engulfed in flame as they approached the scene. He says they used an exterior attack with water to fight the fire.

Eshuis says that the occupants were able to escape before the fire department arrived.

The fire department was assisted by the Hull Fire Department, says Eshuis.

He says the cause of the fire at this time is undetermined.

Chief Eshuis reports that the home was totaled in the fire.

He says they used about 5000 gallons of water to fight the fire, and the approximately 25 firefighters who responded were on scene for about two and a half hours.
