Orange City Man Faces Felony OWI Charge

Orange City, Iowa — An Orange City man faces a felony OWI charge after being accused of driving under the influence for the third time this past weekend.

According to court documents, Orange City Police officer Audley De Jong arrested 30-year-old Hugo Daniel Uribe of Orange City at Frankfort Avenue and Heritage Court on Saturday evening in the 9 p.m. hour. Officer De Jong says Uribe blew 0.157% blood alcohol concentration, which is almost twice the limit of 0.08%, and he failed field sobriety tests.

Jail records say Uribe was also charged with open container and speeding.

Court records indicate a preliminary hearing is set for September 19th. They say Uribe’s other convictions for driving under the influence were in 2012 and 2014 — both in Texas.

Jail records say bond was set at $5000, and he was released the next day.
