Orange City Woman Taken To Hospital After Car Strikes Truck

Orange City Ambulance OCOrange City, Iowa– An Orange City woman was taken to the hospital after an accident in Orange City on Monday, March 20, 2017.

The Orange City Police Department reports that about 8:00 AM, 40-year-old Melissa Klein of Orange City was driving a 2014 Ford Escape eastbound on Third Street Northwest. A Ford Super Duty F750 was legally angle parked on the south side of Third Street Northwest.

The report states Klein said she was blinded by the sun, when she struck the truck.

The Orange City Ambulance took Klein to Orange City Health System Hospital.

Klein’s Ford Escape sustained $15,000 in damages, The Ford Super Duty, owned by Hare Painting and Sandblasting of Linn Grove, sustained $450 in damages.

Klein was charged with Failure to Maintain Control.

In addition to Orange City Ambulance and Orange City Police personnel, Orange City firefighters assisted at the scene.
