Rock Rapids Man Jailed In Spencer On Multiple Charges

spencerpoliceSpencer, Iowa — A Rock Rapids man faces a litany of criminal charges following the investigation into a pair of burglary complaints received Sunday (March 13th) in Spencer.

Spencer Police Chief Mark Warburton says a search warrant was executed by Spencer Police at the residence of 317 W. 18th St. Lot #3 in Spencer yesterday (Thursday, March 17th).  Warburton says a search of the residence turned up stolen property from both burglaries as well as property from a car burglary that had not yet been discovered.  Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were also seized in the search, according to Chief Warburton.

The Chief says Spencer Police arrested 36 year-old Donald Bolan of Rock Rapids in conjunction with the search warrant.  He says Bolan was charged with 2 counts of Burglary in the 2nd Degree, a class C Felony, Burglary in the 3rd Degree, an aggravated misdemeanor, Credit Card Fraud, an aggravated misdemeanor, Possession of a Controlled Substance, namely methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.

According to Warburton, during the investigation it was determined that Bolan also had outstanding warrants for Parole Violation, Financial Transaction Fraud,  and Failure to Appear.

The Chief says Bolan is currently being held in the Clay County Jail in Spencer on $11,000 bond.
