Rock Valley Man Faces Felony OWI Charge

Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley man has been arrested on felony OWI charges.

The Sioux County arrest log shows that on Saturday, July 14th, a Rock Valley Police officer arrested 28-year-old Devin Van Sloten of Rock Valley.

Court records indicate Van Sloten is charged with allegedly Operating While Intoxicated, Third Offense, which is a class D felony.

It says the arrest stemmed from a traffic stop at Twelfth Street and 21st Avenue in Rock Valley. The officer says Van Sloten was speeding. When the officer pulled him over, an odor of alcohol could be detected, according to the officer’s statement on the court document. It also says Van Sloten allegedly failed field sobriety and blood-alcohol tests.

Jail records indicate Van Sloten was released the same day after posting a $5000 bond.
