Sheldon, Iowa — A Phoenix, Arizona woman was taken to the hospital in the aftermath of a single-vehicle crash near Alton on Tuesday.
Sioux County authorities say the crash happened when 20-year old Brenna Ellington, of Phoenix, was northbound about 5 miles south of Alton on Kiwi Avenue in a 2010 Mercury Mariner. Deputies say she lost control of the SUV, entered the east ditch and rolled.
Deputies say Ellington was taken to the Orange City Hospital by Alton Ambulance.
Damage to Ellingson’s SUV was estimated at $5-thousand. Authorities say she was ticketed for Failure To Maintain Control.
Sioux County deputies were assisted at the scene by the Alton Fire Department, Alton Ambulance, and the Iowa State Patrol.
