Sanborn Man Charged In Cherokee County Assault

Welch, Robert - BookingCherokee, Iowa — A Sanborn man has been charged following the investigation into an alleged assault that happened in Cherokee County earlier this month.

According to Cherokee County authorities, the arrest of 32-year old Robert Welch of Sanborn stemmed from the investigation into an alleged assault that too place in Cherokee County on August 18th.  Sheriff’s officials say that, upon completion of their investigation, they believe that Welch had assaulted a male subject.

Cherokee County officials say an arrest warrant was issued for Welch, for Assault Causing Bodily Injury, and he subsequently turned himself in.  Authorities say Welch was released on a $1-thousand bond.

Assault Causing Bodily Injury is a Serious Misdemeanor.
