Sanborn Man Injured in Accident

O'BrienSheriff obriensheriff O'Brien SheriffSanborn, Iowa — A Sanborn man was injured after an accident near Sanborn on Friday, November 13th.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 6:30 pm, 20-year-old Austen Gonnerman was driving a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am westbound on 320th Street east of Sanborn. Twenty-nine-year-old Nick Hibma of Harris was driving a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta westbound in front of Gonnerman, signaling to turn left onto Silver Avenue. According to the report, Gonnerman was distracted by checking his speed and rear ended Hibma. Both vehicles were disabled after the accident and had to be towed from the scene.

The Pontiac and the Jetta each received $4000 damage.

Gonnerman was taken by private vehicle to Sanford Sheldon for undisclosed injuries.
