UPDATE: Second Sheldon Man Arrested In Connection With Alleged Assault

Orange City, Iowa — A second Sheldon man has been arrested in connection with an alleged assault that reportedly took place in January.

Sioux County arrest records indicate that James Earl Levi Wagner is charged with Going Armed With Intent, a Class D Felony; Assault-Displaying a Dangerous Weapon; Child Endangerment Without Injury; False Imprisonment and Simple Assault.

Wagner had been the subject of a manhunt after his alleged accomplice, Dustin Engelkes of Sheldon, was arrested on similar charges late last week.

Wagner and Enkgelkes are accused of coercing a victim, under false pretences, to come with them in a vehicle so they could assault him. Sioux County authorities say the pair assaulted the victim in rural Sioux County, where, they say, one of the men allegedly fired a handgun either at the victim, or into the air, in an attempt to assault, scare, or intimidate the victim.

Sioux County Sheriff’s Booking Records indicate that Wagner was booked into their jail Thursday (March 28th).
