Sheldon Man Injured In Rollover Crash Near Hospers

Hospers, Iowa — A 56-year old Sheldon man was taken to the hospital after a single-vehicle rollover crash near Hospers early Thursday evening.

According to Sioux County authorities, the crash occurred shortly before 6:15 Thursday evening when a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport, driven by Merlyn Lode of Sheldon, was northbound on Highway 60, one mile north of Hospers. Deputies say Lode lost control of his vehicle due to the slippery conditions, entered the east ditch, and rolled.

Sioux County authorities say Lode was transported to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center by the Hospers Ambulance.

Deputies estimate damage to Lode’s pickup at approximately $10-thousand.

The Hospers Fire Department and Hospers Ambulance assisted deputies at the crash scene.
