Sheldon Police Arrest Woman For Two Counts Of ID Theft

Sheldon, Iowa — A Nemaha, Iowa woman faces a pair of Identity Theft charges following her recent arrest by Sheldon Police, which came as the result of an investigation that started this spring.

Sheldon Police Chief Lyle Bolkema says the charges against 28-year old Dolly Anel Vega-Rosas involve two credit cards. Bolkema says Vega-Rosas is accused of using the identity of another woman to obtain a credit card, and then spending more than $1-thousand which was charged to the card. That charge of Identity Theft is a Class D Felony.

The second Identity Theft charge against Vega-Rosas is connected to a second credit card. Bolkema says Vega-Rosas applied for the card in her name, but used the other woman’s information to get the card issued. Bolkema says less than $1-thousand was billed to this card, making this Identity Theft charge an Aggravated Misdemeanor.
